SOS Animals UK and SOS Animals Spain both are in desperate need of the following items.
-Dog Coats.It is getting really cold now in Mid-Wales and dogs like Penny, and Ibizian Hound, are finding walks less enjoyable with her thin fur and light frame. We need dog coats of all shapes and sizes to keep the sun-loving pooches warm in the snow and rain. Please send coats in good condition, that are clean and useable.
-Leads.Long leads, about 6ft or 2m long are brilliant as they allow the dogs more freedom on walks. It also makes walking large groups easier as you can stagger them in front of you! In Spain, these are often chewed by rats or dogs, and are also needed in Wales. Old leadropes are brilliant!
-Collars.We are always on the look out for collars as each dog leaves the shelter with one. We always need to 'replenish the stock' of collars for all of the new dogs that come to the shelter. They are needed in Wales and Spain. We need collars in all shapes and sizes, colours/material/fastening type is not important as long as they are strong and in good condition.
-Harnesses.We desperately need harnesses in Spain and Wales! In Spain, the harnesses often fall victim to hungry rats or mischevious dogs, or the buckles pop open when the soften in the sun. They are also needed in Wales to help to train the dogs walk better and appeal to new homes more. It also makes walking large groups easier. We need any size harnesses, A shape, H shape, front attatching, any! As long as they are clean and in good condition we will find a use for them.
-Headcollars.We are also on the lookout for headcollars like Haltis, Dogmatics, Canny Collars etc to help train the dogs to walk to heel and make them more appealing to new homes. This will also make the dog walkers lives easier and assist in one to one training. Again, any size or colour of headcollar is welcome, as long as they are in good condition.
If we are lucky enough to exceed the number of items needed for the dogs, we will sell any very good condition or nice items to raise money for the charity.
