My horse has a bone chip in his hind leg just below stifle. He is allowed out in a small area (he has a fenced off area of woodchip about 20ft x 20ft) so he cant run around/twist funny.
He has been getting really bored so I have been taking him for little walks 5-10 mins in hand
But im not sure if I should be as he is very exciteable, he does rear a couple of times on the walk generally (we've only been about 5 times) but isnt too silly - no more than he does in his paddock
I lead him out in bridle, sidereins, and lunge line and obv hat!!
has anyone had experience of this before and what to do (cant get hold of vet atm, think hes away!) he got the original injury xmas day but chip wasnt found until x rays on 29th Jan.
He has been advised we need at least 7 more months off atm (subject to change tho) and I really dont fancy trying to walk him after all that time in
I dont want to hurt him but I dont want him to be bored and unhappy at the same time
(dont have a horse walker)
Well done for getting this far
