I am competing the BE90 on Sunday 13th at Weston Park, so can I walk the course on the Wednesday, before the International starts? Would rather walk the course before a competition starts.

Courses are normally open from the day before the competition and as they are run seperately I would say probably not?! But then the grounds will be open from Wednesday so can't see how they will stop people walking the 90/100

I think the problem with walking any course before the official walking time is that you might miss last minute changes to the course.

It's a seperate event to the international one so I think Saturday will be the earliest you'll be able to walk it. See you there, I'm also entered in the 90 :)

I was only asking as I like to walk the course when its quiet, no horses on course if you get what I mean, I usually take photos as I go round. I can go on the Saturday, but just thought it may be quite busy as International will be running. It will be nice to see the bigger classes competing tho :)

My daughter is also doing the 90 however we are confused as you have to pay to go in on the sat unless the let us walk it later on and let us in free.

Hi All

I have just spoken to Mrs Plant for confirmation of the above.

WALKING THE COURSE - The team are aiming to have the course ready for Wednesday 9th October, for all classes to walk if they wish, HOWEVER, the TD can (and has in the past) make changes to the course upto 2pm on the day before the event. For this reason, your course will only be officially open for walking at 2PM on the day before your XC day.

For those who are competing XC on Sunday(BE100 & 90), as long as you bring your BE membership card (and this is a must) and confirm your name (we have a list on the of entries on the gate) then you will gain free access to walk the course on Saturday. You will want to take the opportunity to watch the * & ** as well as browse the trade stands!!

On a safety note, the BE 90 and BE 100 track runs in the opposite direction to the * & ** track, so when you here a whistle, don't always expect the horse to come from behind you!! Hopefully you will have your eyes open any way :-)

I had a potter around the course yesterday, and I have to say it is looking fab. All the fences are out now, stringing is up, and its only fence dressing/flags to do. The * & ** track has changed around a bit, and with the BE90 and 100's being run for the first time, there is a whole host of new fences, including your very of wave next to the water including surfing penguins :-)!

The grass cover is spot on at the moment, and will have another light trim this week. The ground is good to ever so slightly firm in the odd place, so could take rain should we get any.

I will keep you all updated on Sunday after we put out the dressage arenas. Should you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.
