What are your opinions on a horse having one blue eye?
Do you like it or would it put you off a new horse

It would put me off I'm afraid, pure snobbery going back to childhood when only the 'rag and bone' men's ponies were seen with them, it is just something I have never been able to get over.
LOL, my new man was a very light wall eye osrt of Ice blue and some cant stand to look at it, but he is Part Paint so will have one. I was also told he will be discriminated against in coloured showing because of it, but then surely he shouldnt as its part of his breed.
I suppose it will depend on whether or not the judges know anything at all about the breed (unlikely, so yes, he may be discriminated against because of it! I remember listening to a judge speaking to an appaloosa owner about her youngster who had not been placed, all the 'faults' she was quoting were traits of the breed, the youngster outclassed everything else in the ring but was completely overlooked)
Sorry, she is still beautiful though (as long as I avoid the eye)
I love them i think it makes them different, but aren't wall eyes different to blue eyes? My Cremello has blue eyes not wall, theyre pure blue and i understood it to be part of their colour
If i knew how i'd upload a picture - but i don't
I must say i dont get the snobbery bit as some are bloomin expensive, so its not as it they are all nasty cheap horses/ponies, some have bloomin good breeding.
I know exactly what you are saying, let's face it most of them are 'proper' gypsy cob/vanner types (which I love) and are far from cheap but I think the snobbery thing set in as a child and probably not fully understanding the 'eye thing', I would imagine I thought there was something wrong with the pony. I had the same thing over coloureds when coming back into horses, as a child they were gypsy ponies, 'normal' people just didn't own them, they were always dirty and scruffy, I was amazed at what they sell for and how many people own them. I love them now so who knows, maybe my attitude to the wall eye will change too, have to admit, the photos on here don't seem to 'repulse' me as much as I thought!
I have a 3yr old bred in the purple for showjumping with a blue eye and it doesn't bother me at all, it's hardly going to affect his jump so it's not something I'd even take into consideration. (Also I have 2 different coloured eyes so I think it's kinda cool! heehee)
