Wall eye

I have a solid black falabella stallion with two blue eyes, he has been dna tested positive for the frame LWO gene , he also carries splashed white (both patterns are known to cause blue eyes) almost everyone loves the colour and it hasnt hurt him in the showring as hes a multi-champion and on the elite register , its not a fault or a problem with the eye , just one of the traits of a horse that carries patterns or dilute colours :-)

I love them, definitley wouldnt put me off buying a horse, probably the opposite. As long as the horse was good at it's job and what i was looking for then i really wouldn't care less :)

I wouldn't mind either way. My Gypsy Cob has a blue eye, I call it her 'naughty eye'. It is connected with pigmentation, the less pigmentation the bluer the eye, so blue eyes often occur when there is a white patch over all or part of the eye area.

I have no problem with wall eyes at all, in fact I love them I think they're unique :D. My gypsy vanner has a wall eye and it really stands out, especially when taking pictures of her. My little 3 year old cremello sec A has two wall eyes and I've heard people say that he's ugly or 'scary' and I get a little hurt by that, I know it's not everyones cup of tea but he's my unique little baby and i think he's gorgeous :)

Personally, I really dislike them and I would never buy a horse with a wall eye, to me they remind me of gypsy ponies.
I'm also not a massive fan of coloureds, despite my little hunter being one. I wouldn't have bought him if he had a wall eye.

I like a blue eye on a coloured horse or one with a white face but think it looks a bit freaky on a solid. :o

My cob has a 1/4 of a blue eye: just a blue stripe through an otherwise normal brown eye.

Love them, though I do tend to think of my cobs as blue rather wall (as someone else said). I honestly think they're an absolutely stunning colour and wouldn't have him any other way.

Off topic, but fab that you took the time to test for LWO on a solid horse!! A sign of responsible breeding rather than just hoping for no white foals :)
Thanks Xena , his dam was visually splashed white and his sire solid, but as his line comes from america and I knew he had a strong pinto background I tested him , because he came back positive I then had to test all my mares, luckily they all came back negative , but at least now I can relax knowing there wont be a problem :)

I like them... :D

loulabelle - How gorgeous is your horsey!!! I am in love <3

Beautiful dog Indiangel. :p

I think they're beautiful, remind me of husky eyes.
I love the blue it has such a magical quality to it, get lost in them! honestly can't think of
anything with more stunning colours.
However I prefer it when both eyes are the same rather than odd.

Don't understand how anyone can be "repulsed" by them bit harsh.

Supaspot your falabella is stunning, love solid black/blue eyes combo.

I like them, my boy has one full blue eye and one half blue half brown eye. He has a black face though . I think on cremellos it can be a bit strange. Not particularly a fan of it on chestnuts either unless they have a white marking on they're face.

I'm not keen on them but did own a blagdon with one, found that depending on the judge that it could affect his chances in a line up not massively but by one or two places.

Def like Marmite! Personally they're not my taste but my OH likes them. I know of a bay gelding with two blue eyes and he looks a bit freaky but very distinctive and it actually suits him. So entirely your own choice, lots of people would agree with you if you like em. And plenty of others who won't :)

I like them but then again I'm a sucker for anything different :) Love the solid coloured horses with two, even better :D

How come they get marked down in showing though? Just because they have a different colour eye to the usual brown. Don't buckskins/some dilutes have lighter golden coloured eyes? Which I bet they don't get marked down for.

If the horse ticked all my other boxes (unlikely as my 'type' don't typically have blue eyes) then I would probably still buy.

However, I don't like them and if I could find something else which would do the job that had a pair of brown eyes I'd pick that over one with a wall eye I'm afraid.

I wouldn't ever set out to buy a coloured horse either.

My friend has a fantastically bred solid bay warmblood with one blue eye so its not just cobs.

I like them although I'd prefer them to have 2 blue eyes, I had a cremello once with two blue eyes (do cremellos always have blue eyes?).
