Want a laugh......

He is a brave little rider.....

Janah - Suppose you never laugh at things like you've been framed then.....!!!

I wouldn't personally stick a child back on over and over as clearly it's a little *****, but it still made me laugh.

Sorry that makes me evil!!!!:D

There was a thread on here a year or so ago about it.
He now has a better behaved pony if I remember correctly.

Bug2007, I am the first to laugh if someone trips or has a 'funny' fall. I do think though that the child is at real risk from such a pony.

Brave little chap to keep riding the pony.

If this pony behaviour was described on here as a horse with an adult rider I think rider would be advised to not ride it as too dangerous.

It is a little bit funny, i had a pony just like that as a kid. It doesn't bother you when you fall off because its such a short distance to fall.

I used to throw myself off in a temper when mum told me to get off. The kid is obviously fine. I believe falling off a bit helps you to be a better jockey.

Great kid!! Most of the small jockeys around here would have had a tantrum at the first buck, stormed off and never ridden again!! Shows he's made of better stuff and what a rider he'll become. Yes pony is naughty but I'm pretty sure his parents wouldn't be happy to let him ride if they really thought he was in danger. I'm sure these are clips from a few years rather than every single time the kid rode.

This was in video vault ages ago..... this pony does not do this every day, it is a COMPILATION of his naughty bits over time.

IMO give a kid a perfectly schooled, never puts a foot wrong show pony and they will learn NOTHING, give them a pony that will keep em on their toes, and they learn so much more, and build character to boot!

When i left pony club I went back to teach the babies XC, one girl had a pony who was just an A*se...... cantered lovely up to a fence, last min, dropped shoulder, kid sailed over head. What did that teach the kid..... SIT UP AND RIDE into a fence- invaluable lesson.

Also over heard the convo with kids mother after the lesson:
Kid: "mum, mum, mum, guess what"
Mum: "what darling?"
Kid: "guess how many times i fell off today?"
Mum: "I dont know how many"
Kid: "only 6" Huge grin
Mum: "well done darling that is 5 less than yesterday...." Big hug

I would rather have a kid like that any day than a kid who stropped at the first thing the pony did wrong!

You can see where Thelwell got his ideas from!

The first pony I ever rode used to roll like that and here I am 45 years later still in love with every thing horsey.

I loved the ending where the little boy is hugging the pony. Truce.

That sounds like a conversation I had many times with my mum when I was a kid with a very naughty if tallented Sec B. He was a monkey when I first got him and was always ditching me however, he certainly taught me how to ride!

Love it!! And that little kid is a dude, and I really don't like children as a general bred but would have a little chap like that anyday!!

Love the pony, why are the really naughty ones always so grey they are white? Possibly because they are quite old and have spent years learning naughty tricks?! :D :D

A person I can totally agree with.

I think this is very funny, and I wish I had had this experience as a child. It might have made me less worried about falling now. I did whince a bit when he got hung up in the stirrup and the pony took off.

I find the footage quite amusing, but thing is why do we all assume the pony isnt sore? If this was a 16.2hh doing this - we'd all be crying out for the owner to get the back, saddle etc. checked as somethings not right. Why do we all forget that little "cute" ponies suffer the same problems as bigger horses?

I've seen this many times and the child now has a new pony and is doing well. There were lots of 'good' ed videos too, the grandma of the child does state on every single one about the pony's faults and good bits etc. He is a fabby little rider now, look at the ones of him and the new pony, that pony taught him to properly ride!

^^ This! I love Ed and those who are mentioning that he is dangerous or in pain I suggest you read the blurbs under the video's and the other threads on here, where you will find that all the checks have been done and he was also sent away to 'boot camp'. Naughty ponies are the best I think, they make life more interesting!

This is old been on here a few times although i have to say to op is very amusing, yes i do have a child.

My parents had a riding school when i was young we were put on the naughty ones in particular a highland mare Morag who bucked and screwed and galloped to edge of paddock every time we rode her when she started to behave she was taken from us put in the school.

I was given the most amazing little pony very well bred dartmoor pony a little rocket used to run away with me but was honest and as straight as a dye i loved him to death, and still would love a big horse like him, riding naughty ponies does not bother you when you are a kid it makes you a good rider .

I have to say now in later years as a mother you need nerves of steel but it wasnt the same for my mum she has nine i only have one.;)
