I have a cob who figured out if he kicks his door in the right way for ten minutes he can get it to open. He then takes to excursions, exploring his environment on the scout out for tasty treats and mischief.

Does anyone know of any of these quitkick devices being sold second hand?

Can you use a different bolt so he can't get it open. Either the auto door bolt type which has a piece of metal which drops down and locks it, or one which you can put a clip, like a lead rope one, into a ring to keep it closed. This is cheaper than quitkick. I had one who opened the bolt with his teeth then booted the door until the kickover bounced free.

Actually yes, I think the yard owner said they'd replace the bolt. But he kicks during feed time too. In fact, he quite likes to make his presence felt. I probably didn't help. The first couple of times he did it to call me to give him a scratch. And yes... I stupidly complied. If I can find a quitkick at a better price, I reckon I d buy it anyway. The banging is annoying and a bad habit (obviously I don t give him a cuddle anymore for it!).

Thanks all for the links and suggestions. If he was home with me I d definitely do the tricks mentioned, but don t feel I can ask the yard owner to do them. I ll most likely buy the thing, because shur what would I be doing with the extra money anyway. Thanks!
