I am officially fed up with my yard and want to leave now!
For a start, my trailer is bloody miles away from the yard coz I cant keep my it at the yard, then I get moaned at about not poo picking for ages (err, I was moving house!) A theres this horrible arragant man there that just wants to cause trouble for me! He hates my dog and moaned to the YO, so I was then told to keep him on a lead, so I did! He's no trouble at all and he is tied up on the yard outside my stable while I do my jobs and sits in the car when Im riding. I bought doggy on to the yard the other day (carried him in from the car) put him down to put his lead on and I get 'you shouldnt let him loose on the yard' from the stupid man, I told him I didnt, I was putting his lead on (stupid arse!), then last night I get to the yard and now Im told I cant have the dog on the yard at all. That was the final straw, coz I no stupid man has been moaning again. Ive had enough of that place and want to leave, trouble is, Im not exactly spoilt for chose were I am.

Sorry for the long rant and well done if you made it the end!

Id go to your yard owner and have a moan yourself !!! thats not fair if you cant take your dog up mine follows me everywhere at the yard x even runs round the school seeing if she can keep up with me !!

It was exactly like that at my old yard. I was shallow enough to suck up to the YO but there were petty people who'd go crying to her when things wouldn't go their way. Like putting horse out in the field before sweeping up foot pickings! I had enough of the winging and the fact that YO took their word for it so left.

Can I come to your yard please!

It's miserable when you are unhappy at your yard - however, you can't simply up sticks everytime something p*ss*s you off.

We were not allowed dogs on the yard at my previous yard - no one had a problem with this.

There is always someone with whom you won't get on.

Regardless if you are moving house - you can still spend 10 mins poo picking surely?

If essentially it is a nice place, with decent facillities etc. and your horse is happy - I'd just get on with it.

Im in kent hun - not sure where you are ?? and i have a waiting list too x

I'm sure the yard rules state no dogs allowed! (Which had surprised me at the time as all yards I've been on have had dogs running around getting under your feet!). I guess the yard rules have been enforced which is fair enough really (though annoying if the bloke has it in for you personally!). Not everyone likes dogs and some horses can be really frightened by them. I like dogs and am happy enough to have them about, as long as they're not in the way.

But it's a good yard overall, don't leave!!

Why don't you have your trailer down there? Lots of other people do don't they? Is there not enough space? If I get one I was hoping to keep it down there.

dont know where you are but we have new stables being built at the mo.
its on the beds/ herts border. has ok menage, brill hacking and lorries and trailers are on site.
its diy but there is a woman there that does things for you if you cant get up there.
oh, and fields are picked by the yard tractor!!!

If it's just the dog thing - have you asked the bloke why he doesn't like her - is he frightened of her, does she nip his horse...etc. Then you could negotiate with him to see if your dog can come back.
I like dogs too, but wish the dog owners at my yard were a bit more responsible as their dogs poo everywhere and they don't clear it up....yuk

None of the yards I have been at have allowed liveries to have dogs on them. I think that is pretty much the rule on most yards.

If you missed your poo picking and had not told anyone that you were busy, then they are right to be a little p1ssed off. However, if they had been told you were unable to commit to poo picking, then they should not hassle you afterwards.

It is usually poor communication that causes the problems on yards.

Why does this man "want to cause trouble" for you?
