I have a little Welsh mare I want to teach to drive, but I have literally no experience in driving myself. From what I have researched I should find a professional/experienced driver to teach me, but I haven't really found anyone (nor have I had a good look though..).
So, where do you find experienced drivers that are willing to teach?

I’m pretty much on the other side of the world to most of you, New Zealand, Hawkes bay to be exact
I could be wrong but I’m not sure there are many members local to me, but general places to check would be appreciated.
I did find a driving club, is that a good place to ask?

yes you should join and ask if you can help groom or backstep for anyone. Hopefully someone will be happy for the help and give you pointers of where to start.
As a teenager I got to help a lass with her driving cob and it was amazing. Wish I could remember more about it all as I think it could be something I would enjoy in future.

Talk to your local Harness Racing Trainers, they will have a good idea of who would be suitable, also a bit of work experience with one of them would be helpful.

A friend of mine did this a couple of years ago. Managed to find a chap locally who came twice a week to get the little Dartmoor going. Did a smashing job of her.
