Hi...I have been searching the Internet for days for a 3.5 tonne Equi trek to carry 2x 15'2 horses. Living not a priority but would still be interested. I live in Hertfordshire but for the right one would happily travel. Any ideas on where to look for one? Or have one for sale? Hoping to view and buy at the weekend. Thanks ;)

Equitrek have a slightly second hand one for sale, if you really think you can get two 15.2s, driver, passenger and all their kit into the 1080Kg payload.

youl struggle to get two 15.2s in with that payload. even though its stalled for two doesnt mean it will legally carry them. one 15.2 will weigh 500kg or more. so thats a tonne already. they are nice though. My friend has an equitreck sonic. its lovely!!

This is the issue with them isn't it?! I thought as much. Even though it says 2x16hh etc doesn't mean it can actually carry them..with the extra weight of tack etc... Ok thanks anyway...just saved me another week of pointless searching! ;( I hold a full Uk driving lisence but cant drive anything bigger without taking a test. Anyone know how much that is?

dont about a test for driving bigger than 3.5t but iv just done my towing and that was £560 overall including the test fee to give you an idea.

someone at our yard has one of these (she's actually selling it) http://www.3countieshorseboxes.co.uk/3.5_ton_horsebox_specification they have a payload of 1300Kg though I still think you'd be pushing it to get 2x 15.2hh horses, tack, water, you, passenger, diesel etc within the load! I think you may have to settle to take your trailer test or cat c? It cost me £150 for a morning trailer training, then a test fee of £115, though I could reverse a trailer before hand just wanted to run through the test with an instructor instead of going in blind, I've heard the cat c tests can cost £1K to get through!
