Hi! I am looking for livery for 2 horses, in the shrops/staffs area, ideally within about 20 mins drive of Telford Town Centre. Need 2 stables (one must be at least 12x12), floodlit menage and all year individual turnout. Would prefer a small yard, that's flexible and friendly! :) Can anyone help as i'm really struggling to find somewhere nice ???????

I know a few but dont know if they have individual all year round turn out, I would try going into the local tack shops ie telford Saddlery, Countrywide and Wynstay to start with they normally have loads of adverts up.

Good luck with the search, I am in Telford are you already in the area or moving to the area?

Liz

Have tried all the usual tack shops etc, get the paper every week and constantly search the internet, just can't seem to find anything that looks any good and is reasonably priced :(
already in telford, but there just seems to be a lack of good quality livery, thought someone may know of somewhere a little less publisized!
where do you know of?

Thanks :)

Thanks, but this is abit far as its past Bridgnorth.

i had typed out a big long reply and my PC ate it!!!

The only ones I know are Newport Stud (Newport) Long Lane (Shawbirch) TEC and Kingswood they have the facilities you are after, although dont know about turn out. I looked a few years ago when I had my daughters pony on grass livery at TEC and couldn't find anything so ended up renting my own land and been there ever since.

I am at Valley View in Broseley which has everything you want apart from the floodlit menage - but the planning just passed for that so it will be here soon (I hope!). We do have a small indoor with lights at the moment though.
Sadly we are full with a waiting list - but you could give YO a call and ask to come and look around? PM me for the number, or Google Valley View Equestrian.
There is also Kemberton Riding Stables - they have menage and lights but not much grazing.
Or - Tong Park Farm / Church Farm Tong though I don't know anything about Tong Par Farm, I have a friend who had a few problems at Church Farm (PM me for details)

Jayne Money's place is at Weston Heath around `10 mins from TTC - but I think she may only do full livery or part? She has floodlit menage.
Hope that helps

there is also a small yard next door to Kingswood. a friend is there and loves it. has outdoor and very small indoor

hi soulfull, do you mean john brindley's place next to kingswood?

hi jnb, have phoned valley view so know you are full :( kemberton is more of a riding school now and they are very expensive. Wudn't go part farm, but thought church farm was ok when ive been to look previously, too busy now its a riding school though. Weston park yard lovely, but too expensive with 2 horses :(

hi smudge, by newport stud do u mean the one on green lane? that only takes gelding's now and i have too mare's. tec/kingswood/long lane, been there and not suitable.

OMG i don't think im going to ever find somewhere! lol

Would love to go to a private yard if im honest, as could do mostly diy if close enough.

Have you tried long lane livery they are about 10 min drive from the hostpital, I have heard of a new yard down in bratton as well but do not know the name maybe ask around in that area and someone may know of it. There are also a few yards down ellerdine heath, I am sure if you pop into the elephant house (telford saddlery) they have a book with ads in it might be a yard or two in it.
You also have redhill stud (Hancocks) , sorry dont know anymore that have not already been mentioned, I left livery yard life to go it alone a long time ago.

if you hear anyfin else about the new yard in bratton let me know, have got a friend round those parts so i will get in touch wth her to see if she knows anythin. ur very lucky not having to worry about livery yards, its a nightmare! :(

The Wyke at Shifnal is not far at all from Telford Town Centre. I work on Hortonwood but keep my horse near Bridgnorth so know exactly how long the journey is. The Wyke is not far from halesfield junction of the A442. Park Farm at Quatt is lovely but would take minimum of 40 mins. My journey from Hortonwood to just outside of Bridgnorth is 30-35 mins although it is a good run along the Rabbit Run Road.

No sorry do not know the name, I was ear wigging in a horsey shop and over heard a conversation about a private yard in that area. I gave up livery yards a long time ago and although I have no facilities except a stable and shed and a fenced off flat oblong shaped schooling area which can really only be used in the good weather seasons, I am happier enough. There must be yards in much wenclock as its quite an horsey area, have you rang mill farm up there I think thats the name anyway, they do pub rides and lessons, if they do not do liveries they may be able to point you in the right direction. They should be online try googling them.

i thought the same about much wenlock, but theres nothing online about any yards except for mill farm, so i mite give them a call. Thanks

Freshfields?? Its at Longford, near the Muller factory.
i used to travel there from Edgmond, took about 25 mins.

Indoor/Outdoors, Turnout, Hacking, XC, tack shop.

Nice little yard when I sued to go, with the amazing Mr Fearghul. I wish I could have brought that gorgeous horse home with me! I would have paid anything for him!
