HI everyone, I have just relocated for a new job, and would like to find livery in these areas: Merstham, Godstone, Oxted, Reigate.
I've searched the forums already, but can't really find anything suitable.
Any help / advice would be appreciated.

Criteria: quiet, floodlit school (prefer 20X60m), good turnout, hacking optional.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried Highways Livery Yard, High Road, Upper Gatton? It's between Chipstead and Reigate has a larger than normal sand school and is a quiet family owned yard. I'll pm you the owners details.

Hi Surreydeb,
thanks for that. Is it the one that is owned by someone called Mandy? I had seen a previous thread that recommended her. I could only find a landline, and there is no answer. Would be great to get a mobile number :)
Thanks!

I would look up Hengest Farm feeds in Banstead. They are close to Chipstead and have a notice board. There's also a place in Kingswood advertising part at the moment. Garden farm stables or something?

I tried Highways in Upper Gatton, but there is no space for the foreseeable future.

Any other suggestions?

Littleton Manor in Reigate (competition yard) Fab facilities. Oldencraig (bit further out but still in your 'triangle'.

There's a lovely one in Westerham which may be a bit too far East for you (they were advertising on here recently - can't remember the name).

Thanks Nicnac, I prefer small and quiet, but with a full sized school. I'm not into big busy comp yards...

Tatsfield Court - I've just moved there and it's lovely, school is 20x40m and turnout is fab :)

ETA: there is one on the bottom of the Caterham Bypass (CDM do you know it?) but I can't remember what it's called  :o

Yes, one of my friends is there, brain dead I will think of it in a minute!
Driving me nuts as I flocked a saddle there not long ago!

GOT it, Fosterdown Farm!
Going senile!

wow, a flurry of activity! Thanks everyone!

Thanks @ Broke_But_Happy - Buttons Mead looks really nice and it's close to home. I will ring them tomorrow to find out if there are vacancies. Tatsfield sounds super, but it's a wee bit far, and also a bit restrictive only having a 20x40. Glad to hear you're happy there though :))

Thanks @ cremedemonthe - for the recommendations - the one in Kingswood is right near my work, so it would be convenient. I will ring tomorrow. Thanks also for Fosterdown Farm - also looks like a possibility!

Welcome :)

what a pity, I rang Buttons Mead, but they have closed down - they are trying to sell the property.

Tried to ring Garden Farm in Lower Kingswood - no answer, I will try again later.

Hurstfields sounds nice.

I spoke to someone at Lodge Liveries in Stoke D'Abernon - facilities look good.

The search continues! :)

What's also helpful, is recommendations on which places to AVOID! I've received some of those tips already, and it's really appreciated :)) Insider info is always welcome :)

Am I right in thinking you have a spanish horse?

Whitewood Livery on Whitewood Lane, Horne. Lovely, well run livery yard with happy horses lots of turnout etc. I have a few friends there. Well worth a look.

I thought Whitewood had very limited turnout, and was clay based, so very little turnout in winter.

Lovely huge outdoor, and 20x40 indoor and professionally run.

Turnout was the big turnoff for me.

Yards in Reigate

- Carol Brazells - has been sold but think livery continuing. Has 20 x 60
- LMEQ and three associated yards - has 20x60 but is a busy place. No competitions on site though all facilaties hired, lots of clinics
- Luarns - mostly DIY, some part, 20x60
- Tessa, The Clears, think is a 20 x 40 school not sure.

Fosterdown farm in Godstone isnt a 20x60, I dont think.
