Hi all,

I'm not having much luck finding a new yard... Does anyone know of any space at a yard within 5 Miles of PO15?

I need grass livery or assisted DIY for my well behaved mare. Good hacking is essential, and I would prefer a small yard preferably with people to ride with. Use of a school would be a bonus, but not essential.

If you know of anywhere, even if there's no spaces at the mo, please PM me.

Thank you :)

There's a notice up at Shedfield Nurseries advertising livery spaces.

Pinkmead have a small DIY yard attached to them. In fact there are a few in Curdridge/ Botley. Call Botley Mills too, they may know of spaces.

Good Luck :)

Thanks for that Hoof Hearted :)

I've been going to Botley Mills/Kitnocks for the last few weeks scanning the boards and there's nothing apart from one in Bishops Waltham which unfortunately is just a bit too far :( I've looked in the book at Hampshire Saddlery but nothing stood out :(

Anyone else know of any yards???

I am at a small private yard in S032 (Waltham Chase) Its a friendly little yard - just a handful of us there. PM me if you would like to know more.

Did you ask at Kitnocks? they have a yard there. Also, try finding a phone number for Harmsworth. Pinkmead Farm do a kind of DIY (they turn out or bring in, and you have to do the other one a day) and have a DIY yard over the road called Sherecroft.

I believe there are vacancies at Shedfield as well.

Isabelle

Thanks Isabelle :)

I have tried Harmsworth, no hacking :(

Not too keen on big yards. I've heard very good things about Sherecroft, but I think it's very popular there, so prob no spaces. Not sure about the hacking, as I know it's not good from Pinkmead and Sherecroft is just over the road... the search continues :D

I live there ( PO15 ) and I think grass livery is really hard to come by locally. I also think you will have to have a traffic proof horse to reach the hacking from most yards I know of. Most people I know rent private facilities if they want their horses out at grass and the DIY's all have stabling included which makes it dearer.

I agree with everyone else in that keep looking on the notice boards at Shedfields, Kitnocks, Scats etc. Also I'd put a wanted add on NFED and Wickham newsagent often has livery ads in the window.

Goods luck with your search.

Thanks LHS. Keep going to all the local feed places but nothing on the boards as yet.

Have been to see a nice yard in Bishops Waltham but not 100% sure where the hacking is although I've been told it's excellent. Distance from my house is 8 miles though, which might be a bit of a nightmare!

Anyone got any experience of hacking in Bishops Waltham?

Hi, i keep my mare in Durley. Near Bishops Waltham you can hack to Upham, Owslebury (not sure on spelling!) Its just a case of exploring all the routes, personally i love it, brilliant hacking in this area. Will depend what part of Bishops Waltham you are in tho to access the bridleways.

Scholfieds is in Wickham, used to be Wickham Riding School. Lovely hacking there, and near to the Hundred Acre Wood. :)

hi are you still looking for somewhere ?

I'm at shercroft and the hacking is not too bad. The main road is annoying to get off but once you do there is some nice hacking. Went out for a good 2hours this morning.

There is a space and it's lovely.
