War Horse Film Trailer

You're right, it does look promising! I hope they have used ONE horse as it gets older and the film isn't filled with the gratuitous neighing of the 'Dallas horse'. One neigh fits all.

Anyone on here have a horse whose neigh you can't tell from anyone else's horse's? None of the many I have had here have neighed anything like another and I can tell exactly who it is making all the racket!

They used 11 horses in total to play Joey :D
 
I may have to wait for the DVD so I can cry in the comfort of my own settee :0)

I'm not sure I'll be able to cope with a film version. it'l be far too graphic and REAL. On stage there is a limit to how "real" it can be but the bit where Joey is caught up in the wire will be awful
 
Can't wait! Know a couple of people who "starred" in the film as stunt riders, stable boys etc, and they said it will be amazing... wil have a look at the triler when I get a sec :D
 
This was my favourite book also when I was younger! I used to read it every week! Really want to see it in the west end but am so worried I'll be the only crying hysterically throughout it! Makes my eyes water just thinking about it! So want to see it though!! At least with the film, I'll be able to wait until it's out on dvd and watch in the privacy of my lounge!
 
Havent read the book (think i will have to), havent seen the stage play (again think i will have to) but i started to well up watching the trailer :o I would rather see it in the cinema but i think it will be best seen at home so i can blub away without odd looks!
It does look really good thou.

My grandpa fought in the war. It was his stories about his horses that infected me with the equine virus as a child. But I don't think I could watch the film - I'd be in bits. Has anyone read "Our horses in Egypt" by Rosalind Belbin? Brings the reality home with a vengance.
 
My sister and I cried pretty much for the whole of the play, and last year at Olympia they had a small section of the play with the puppet horses as part of the finale, and we cried at that too. :rolleyes:
Trailer does look good though, definitely need to take tissues to the cinema!

You certainly wouldn't be the only one blubbing in the theatre I assure you. I went on my 50th birthday in March (as a treat to myself) and took my friend, it was just amazing. The theatre is quite dark and everyone is too enthralled with the goings on that they won't notice your tears - my friend was pretending that she hadn't cried but I saw her dabbing her eyes!! No point in holding back. I just watched the trailer on here and had tears in my eyes, my colleague commented from across the desk (he went to see it before me and blubbed!) I said it was the face cream I put on this morning, makes my eyes water ;)
Can't wait for the film version - out Christmas it said - but probably won't get around to going to the cinema, especially that time of year (snow??!!).
