Warbles and pleurisy

A horse on my yard is suspected to have both of these, he is also v v stiff through his back end. Poor thing! Vet been and bloods taken so will be confirmed tomorrow. Do I need to do anything to protect my ned?

Neither of these are likely to be contagious. Are you in the UK? If so then warbles are a notifiable disease.

I'm pretty sure that warble flies have been eradicated from the UK.

Yuck! Happily I got the wrong end of the stick and vet has now diagnosed pleurisy with a chronic allergic reaction to the resulting intercostal fluid. Poor pony! No expected implications for the other horses according to the vets x
