Warhorse - who's going?

I'm going for a (week late) birthday present :D I'm so excited!
I saw it on stage a few years ago and my first words were "They should make this into a movie"

i am going and my mum and dad have informed me they want to come too!
I will be taking a whole box of tissues - even the trailer on the tv made me well up :p

After seeing the play, in my opinion the movie isn't as good. Still worth seeing, but there was something so simple about the puppets, I cried from beginning to end. In the film I could tell when they used different horses and it wasn't the same. I would be interested to hear other people's opinions if they have seen both.

Mum and I are desperate to go - with a box of tissues each! - but I dont know if my OH will come, she cant watch Black Beauty or Mary Poppins without sobbing uncontrollably, and Dad isnt really a 'town goer' (you can take the boy off the farm, but you cant take the farm out of the boy!!) so Im guessing it'l just me me and mum!! x

Have you been to an advanced screening???? You LUCKY booger!!!!
I was the same about The Horse Whisperer. After reading the book and absolutely loving it, I was so disapointed in the film!

I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! My Mum cried from beginning to end, I joined in from about half way!! I'm going to see it again when it's released!

I don't think you can compare it to the stage show which was so beautiful and simple. The fim is quite in your face, I found the wire scene quite disturbing! The film made it all so much more real and I cried a hell of alot more!

I have throughly enjoyed the book, the stage show and the film!! 10 out of 10 to all involved!

Saw the trailer for it last night when going to see Sherlock Holmes 2.
I almost bawled just from the trailer, so I think it'd be dangerous to go see the full film in the cinema.

I'm hoping to go on the day it's released, always make sure i see horsey movies even though i know i'll regret seeing it in a cinema! the book and the film trailer had me in tears, not sure how i'll cope with the whole movie!

Not sure I want to see it, saw the trailer bit where the soldier guy comes to take the lads horse away and says he will look after the horse etc, NOOOOOOOOOOO :(, enough for me.

I am the day it's released, I read the book a few days ago which did make me cry - at several points - but I enjoyed lol

Just seen the full trailer, I had a lump in my throat watching that, there's no way I'm going to the cinema to cry in public!

I am going to see it too! I saw the play in London which was amazing. I dont think that the film is going to quite match up to the play but i'm still interested to see it. Probs going to cry the whole way through it as well! lol. Just hope that there isn't anyone else in my local flee pit cinema to see me crying!

I cried all the way through the War Horse trailer when I went to see The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo the other day. I don't think I could bear to see it, I read the book and want to see it in the Theatre, but since I sobbed most of the way through One Day recently I don't think I can watch it.

I did the same the other day. I don't think I am brave enough to watch it.

no chance!!:o I'll wait until it comes out on DVD so i can cry in private:o

^^^^^^this!!!^^^^^^

Read the book when I was younger (about 20 years ago) and every week for about 5 years! It was my favourite! Going to wait until it comes out on DVD, I know I'll be in a right state and would rather do it in privacy!! My grandad had his horses taken off him in the war and he swore he saw them whilst battling in France. I'm quite a strong person but I know the film would just get me!!
