I'm planning to compete in dressage this winter and I'm looking to purchase some new light coloured breeches (cream/beige - not white!) for the job. Thing is I really feel the cold and although I've worn tights underneath my usual competition breeches in the past, I find this quite uncomfortable especially around my toes which seem to end up getting crushed. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for good winter weight breeches that are smart enough for competition or any other bright ideas on how to stay warm. Any tips /advice appreciated!

I've got some Mountain Horse ones that are quite thick - white with full seat just looking for name.

I find them too hot but then I never feel the cold - only the heat

edit to say - they are Isolde - cotton/lycra but alot thicker than Pikeur Lugana's

I use the Toggi over-jodhs to warm up in - they have zips up the side so I can take them off without dismounting.

Usually find I get too hot once we are working properly anyway so I just chuck them off once we have loosened up.

They sounds great. If you can get me the name that would be much appreciated. I'm thinking about investing in some socks designed for mountain climbing to try and keep my feet warm as I do find that is also a huge problem.

I'll take a look at those - thanks. I've got a pair of full chaps which do help and are easy to put on/take off but I find them a bit restrictive around my knees. Must dig them out from whereever they have been hiding all summer though.

I have a pair of actual fleecy material jods which i used for hunting and they were v good, always nice and toasty
