anyone have any ideas what I can do?

Had my boys back done nearly 3 weeks ago - was told his pelvis was out (which you could clearly see when pointed out :o) So this was duely put right and he seemed fine.

About a week later I noticed a bit of heat in a back foot, just one, could find no swelling and was fine to hoof test so dont think its an abcess, however was a bit of heat in hip that side compared to other one. Now I've had quite a few problems with my boys so always go on the side of caution and have rested him up (goes in a paddock with my other old boy so rarely any antics in the field) just not been riding him. Now he seems worse stiff wise heat is variable in foot sometimes hotter one day than the next, and no more heat in the hip.

My other problem is he get drug induced ulcers so no bute for him now - so have been trying D&H Devils claw for last 4 days but not noticed any diff.

Decided going to call the vet tomorrow but just wondered if anyone else has any ideas? could it just be referred pain from having his pelvis done??

Sorry for such a long post - nearly fell asleep just typing it so thanks for getting to the end if you did :p

It could still be an underlying abcess. Big Ginger lad was lame for a few days so we got the vet up and she pressure tested his hoof - no reaction. He was almost sound by the time she came so we thought best to leave it and just keep an eye on him. 2 weeks later he was suddenly HOPPING lame. Vet came out again, took shoe off and there's a big abcess in there. Have been poulticing for 5 days now and still getting pus. Vet reckons the first time she came he was fighting the abcess infection himself but then it got a hold and POW! Really wish we'd taken the shoe off the first time now and let the vet have a dig around....
