Can anyone recommend what brand does thick warm jods for kids? also, how do you guys normally fin dout about table top sales for second hand horsey stuff? I gave up work this year to be a full time mum and money is very tight!

Thankies.

Harry Hally do some fab winter jods, and requisite (robinsons) have some budget jods that are reasonably warm too.
Stick some cheap woolly tights under the jods and they'll be as snug as a bug

Always works for me! That and the thigh high stripey socks

Another vote for tights under jods, or thermal (khaki?) leggings if you have a boy! I've got some very warm Loveson jods at the moment, and one pair of Mountain Horse that are quite warm - I think it depends really on the material used rather than the make though.

Tescos did some quite thick jods last year that were really cheap - I got some in the sale for about £5 for a friend's kids and she didn't want them - what size are your children???

Table top sales and equine car boots usually get advertised in local tack shops and in regional horsey mags, so keep an eye out.

My kids are a 24 and a 22 inch waist so I'll have any going begging! (I'll give you some dosh for them of course). Its a pain about the sales as I live in Bath city centre so I do all my horsey shopping online.

Also for kids, get to know someone whose children are bigger. We used to get a good deal on hand-me-down riding boots at the RS for £10 a pair, and often hand-me-down jodhs too unfortunately my daughter is now masses taller and bigger feet than anyone other than the 14-15 year olds who are not as slim as she is, so we are the ones handing down, sorry just gave away the last of the outgrown jodhs last week, hardly worn as we rotate lots of pairs, but she grows so quickly and all were just far too short!

That's a good diea - time to get pally with the other mums!

There are lots of kids on our yard and I am happy to pay, I'm not looking for freebies. They just grow so fast!
