Having been involved in a warm-up crash at a BSJA show at the weekend, I am left wondering,
*Why does nobody know theire school rules anymore?!*
Seriously, I am AMAZED at the shocking and dangerous riding that goes on in the warm-up these days. No-one seems to know the school rules, nor how to ride when there are others riding in the same arena as you. This was a BSJA show so I would hope that this level of rider has a bit more experience and knowledge, but they are worse than the unafilliated riders!!
Some girl crashed into me because she didn't go left-left, people were riding in fron of the jump as we were literally mid-air, people were standing their (unmounted) horses on the track, and people were just wandering into the arena without looking who was coming down the track. My poor old horse didn't know what was going on, and ended up being pulled around as I tried in vain to avoid people who werent looking!
Anyone got any thoughts, views, similar stories or just wish to join the rant?!!!
