I need to give my horse a bath but we don't have running hot water at the yard.

Does anyone know of, or have, any appliance that produces warm water for washing horses? We have electricity so it could either be a plug-in type or battery / gas powered. Any where could I get one from?

I don't want to install a proper horse wah shower or boiler because of the expense and I only need to bath him occasionally.

I would prefer to spend under £100 but would go up to £200 if necessary.

My only other option is to take him to a yard and ask if I can pay to use their wash box but I don't know anywhere around me (Stratford-upon-Avon) that would do this!

How about an electric shower? All they need is a cold water pipe and connecting to the electricity and you can buy them for around £100, all you would need then is an extra long hose. My aunt has one outside so folks can wash before they get in the hot tub.

I just boil 2 kettles and make 4 buckets very hot water and add cold to it to get the right temperature as you go.
And I have this to wash!

That's what we did - changed the bathroom shower and put the old one in the yard - easy to connect the metal shower hose to heavy duty hosepipe, we found it better to have a hose spray attachment as opposed to shower head though.

if you wanted a permanent one rinnai uk do one that runs on lpg gas with just an electric connection for the temp control.Would need a plumber to put in but they are seriously brilliant.Digital temp control so no one can scald horse etc and good pressure. You can buy off rinnai or kylix are selling them now.Horses stand so still for leg washing/bathing its amazing.

If you use a catering boiler make sure water is no hoter than 40 degrees c (body is 37)

we have a shower unit at our yard - but it is on a meter so you have to pay £1 each time you want to use it - if you dont pay you get cold water! Great way to save the pennies as you pay for what you use

Ditto this. We also use a 'snap on' Hozelock to attach the 'in' supply to the shower so that in winter we can drain the shower and unattach it so that there is no water in the unit to freeze and break it (having had this happen to the first one).

OP I'm sure you can manage with what you have without having to go to a load of hassle/expense. For some reason rinsing in cold water doesn't bother them that much, its the washing in cold water that is more likely to bother them.
