How odd! I have the Pikeurs too, and I was about to recommend them, because mine have kept me warm and dry for a year now! I just ordered another pair!
 
If you go for salopettes be careful after washing them; years ago I had a pair, very very snuggly (bit difficult if you were dying for a pee when you got back to the yard!). Also no chilblains whatsoever! I decided one fine day that they were getting a bit rank, so washed them. Really bad idea. How I stayed on for the next couple of days I do not know. I ended up rubbing something on them do reduce the slip and slide, but I can't remember what it was (it was about 25 years ago).
 
I LOVE my Musto overpants - they are so warm and lovely to ride in - In fact they are so warm that I tend to wear them alone with no breaches underneath!

I've got the Mountain Horse polar overtrousers. They do have a sticky seat and are very warm. Legs have zips, gaitors at calves and stirrup straps to stop them riding up.

But they are just as bulky as salopettes and only suitable for frigid days - yes niceweatheronly will ride when its cold

. They are quite long in the leg and expensive £90.

If I hadn't already bought these, I would probably take a look at the Dublin version.
 
I also love my Musto ones. They have kept the wet and cold out so far this year - Its first time since leaving school that I havnt ended up with raw legs from the cold - LOVE them

You don't get wet, they are very snuggy, no sweating and very comfy. Honestly I'd recommend them to anyone who has to ride a few horses a day in the winter. Defo worth saving up for. I have trialled cheap waterproofs, golfing waterproofs, skiing and sailing waterproofs and these are the only ones that worked for me. My present winter set are 7 years old and still keeping the water a bay. Just make sure you don't wash them with any detergents
