Warm & Wet, who's out without a rug?

All mine are rugged. I have two clipped as they were VERY hiary, another that is 42 so needs the protection from the rain, and my mare, who only has to see a spot of rain and starts to shiver, regardless of the temp!

Me and yesterday too. I would normally put rain sheets on them but its just too warm. D's not happy though, gave me a look of pure hate when i went to fetch him in last night and then couldnt get any of them out of the stables this morning to put them out, had to turn into the bogey man making strnage noises to get them out

Mine are out 24/7 without rugs.

OAP Pony (35) will have a rug on if its cold and windy and we are going to have more than a couple of hours of continuous rain, but she is fine today.

Yep, out without a rug, it was too warm. S0ds law tho- every time I stick a summer sheet on her it stays dry, if she goes out unrugged it rains! Mine's naked and has been for a long time- unless I want to ride and can't bring him in to dry off beforehand.

Mine are out without a rug at moment, too muggy. If it rains heavily for any period of time they come in.

He's been without a rain sheet since back in April, he's not over groomed, he's got plenty of weight on, he sweats up easily so he's better off getting rained, he won't dissolve in the acid rain (mind you we live near Drax Power Station....the rain makes everything glow up in the dark!) and last time I looked his skin was waterproof...but that's just him,I know other horses can be more delicate creatures and do require a rain sheet though

, one minutes is sunny and warm, next its raining and wind gets up and the temperature drops....one minute there shedding coat, next there growing it again.

My mare is very fat and so is getting the hard treatment of if she's that fat then a bit of cold cant do any harm if anything she might loose a bit of the huge belly.

Mine doesn't have a rug on! It's 20C here, despite peeing it down all the time, and he doesn't need one. His coat is perfectly waterproof and he's in during the day so he's dry for when I want to ride in the evenings. My horse is like a radiator - even in the depths of winter when he's fully clipped he still only needs a HW rug on so he definitely doesn't need one now. Plus his LW is being washed and reproofed now anyway so he'll have to tough it out

Sorry, pointless post haha.
My horse is currently out without a rug. But if its going to be raining all day consistently then I'll just pop a sheet on him - he likes to shiver

yep - me too, no rug, she'll come in at about half 3 to have a break from the rain and eat some haylage, and then go back out without a rug - its very warm even though its wet - plus shes a greasy muddy mess at the moment so i doubt any rain is actually getting to her skin (why oh why did i loan a skewbald with more white then chestnut!!!)

No rug - if I put one one him, no matter how thin it is and its too warm he tries his best to get out of it. hates being hot and wet.

Ours are naked. Waaaayyy to warm for a summer sheet today, I do have one for each but mare overheats very easily, youngster is frightened of the noise his makes (bless!) so my boy is only one who usually ever wears his, to keep him dry for when I want to ride. But he'd be so over warm in it at the moment!

Ours have been naked throughout. Lots of natural shelter in their fields though otherwise would have had a rethink.

Mine had a rug on from 3 yesterday till about 1 today he was shivering like a good un, but it went dry and really warm within minutes today, and then he looked really miserable as was too hot.

Go with what your horse wants and not what others say, very good advice which I got from on here

It's far too warm for the majority of horses to wear rugs, the rain will not harm them, honestly.
