As title really; survived last winter using leggings under breeches and had forgotten until my reminder today what a PITA it is when your desperate for a wee! :o. I also feel very clumpy with multiple layers but whenever I order/ pick up a pair of jodders I like the look of, sods law is theyve been designed for a hobbit :D. So can anyone recommend any WARM winter jods/breeches for us unfortunate souls who have legs up to our armpits? :p (but arent lucky enough to be 'model' types :o)

Would be ideal if as well as day to day riding colours they did a cream/beige etc variant so could be used for hunting. So if anyone out there has also suffered and has found some warm jods that actually cover below the knee without breaking the bank I would be ever so grateful to know where please!! :D. (must be long enough to fit a good 34" inside leg).

Ooh ooh! I dont have any suggestions I'm afraid becca1305, just wanted to say I'm in the same boat and I'll be watching for replies with interest... I'm part of the unfortunate 'have to wear jods as breeches' lot too, so far my solution has just been very long, very thick socks! :o

That is my current solution too for most jodders i have found some long enough jods but they are all summer weight ones. Requisite dl some long enough as do belstar and i have a beige pair of hkms thats all i can think of off the top of my head that are long enough but also its not all their jods just certain models grrr so theyve just what Ive found through trial and error :(. There have got to be SOME warm long ones somewhere! :D

Unfortunately my budget wont stretch to Pikeur breeches for me :( I'll easily spend that on a rug for Nutty but I just cant justify spending it on myself!

I did try thermal leggings and tights under breeches/jodhs but I found that when I pulled the jodhs on over the top the leggings came up with them and I ended up with rolls round my knees  Maybe I'm doing it wrong.... Lol

Apparently Gorringe do an extra-long in their jodhs but i'm yet to find somewhere that stocks them....

I have caldene winter breeches and they are great, toasty warm but dont feel sweaty etc. I am short but I think they have a long length also.

Boinks fleece lined breeches from the US - long, soft, very stretchy and the warmest breeches I have, though they're really riding tights. Mine have a high waist but not sure they do those any more ("Von Boinks"). Definitely worth the shipping, they come to my ankle bones - I'm 5'8" with minimum 32" inside leg.

Why dont you buy some full chaps? I wear my fleece lined waterproof rambo chaps on in the winter. Lovely and warm, only problem is I cant put my long fleece lined boots on with them.

I used to have some but they were too short too, NOT a good look! Haha :D found some K*TY quick dry ones in a long length for under £20 on equestrian clearance. I'm going to order them and if they're any good I'll post back if anyone's interested? :)

I second the Pikeur Lugana winter ones---they come in LONG, too. I know they're expensive, but mine are entering their fourth winter, and have been worn most of the summers between (NE Scotland, need I say more?). No other pair that I've had has lasted near as long!

tights are fine underneath summer joddys which are long enough. but its very difficult to get any jodhpurs long enough and if they aren't then the bottom of leg sits in a bad place for my boots and often is too tight as its up my calf when it should be on ankle! think i will be investing in some pikeurs. :)

I live in Musto Polartec jods in winter. They are really like leggings, but so warm! I don't know if they are formal enough for you as they don't actually look like jodphurs.
