warm winter riding gloves needed

Has anyone got any recommendations for makes of warm winter gloves?

Mark Todd thinsulate lined leather gloves. Fantastic, and not too bulky

There is simply no beating waterproof gloves from Sealskinz. They make a riding version, cost around £30 and you really can put your hands in a bucket of water. They are leather and black and smart enough to hunt in. I ride in widwinter in a national park at over 1100 feet up, and my hands are toasty.

Sealskinz. I have the thick padded ones, which are GREAT, but they do a thinner type of waterproof ones too, I'm not sure if they're as good though.

Another vote for Ariat - Insulated Tek Grip Gloves - first really cold frosty day we had, my hands were boiling hot!

Sealskinz are stunning - but I must admit I found the riding glove bulky. Probably because I have tiny hands. My OH - who has huge hands - loves them. The cycling version are thinner and less bulky - but probably less warm as well. I tend to use the Mark Todd thinsulate ones.

You can also get heated gloves with a batter on the wrist. I've been tempted to hunt in them but haven't quite dared. Great for mucking out etc though.

I REALLY rate the Mark Todd ones! I used them all last winter and my arthritic hands were toasty. I have the Sealskinz riding ones but didn't find them as warm as the Mark Todd ones.

Sealskinz on sale right now on eBay at 28.99. I have large thin hands, glove size seven, with an eight and a half inch span and long fingers, and size medium ladies in the padded version fit me perfectly. I would say they are probably very slightly on the large side if you know your glove size.

Mac Wet - can't live without them - even put my hands in water by mistake once just before riding and they dried off within a couple of minutes and you can do everything in them as they are like a second skin - expensive I think at £30 but worth every penny.
