Well my horse is off with a tendon injury so he's been thrown out into the field and he's packing the weight on. Clearly he can't be worked so haven't got a way of him loosing it. He isn't been fed anything else but not sure really what to do as can't help his injury?

You need to restrict his grazing by either muzzling, strip grazing/track system or starvation paddock. You can feed soaked hay to keep his gut healthy and stop hunger.

I'd recommend limiting the time he is out in the field. Or strip graze. I don't think muzzles are really the answer but that's just my personal opinion.

Strip graze to almost bare earth and soaked hay. Having tried them, I don't like muzzles either, I don't think they are good mentally for a horse when there are other alternatives. Also, "ad lib feed blocks" or "big fibre blocks" from Halleys.
