Warmblood or Irish Sports Horse

I have a lovely ish. Very sweet with lots of potential to progess in any sphere yet has an attitude and is very strong and spooky. i would look more on the individual personality and traits rather than a specific breed as each horse is different. however all of the ish have had great paces and a jump to die for! Not had much experience with wb's sorry

Neither, TB all the way :)

Agreed! It would have to be a nice substantial one and reasonably sensible for my taste, but that would go for any horse. I don't have any great competitive needs currently but depending on how low level we're talking I'd favour a sporty native or TBx (connie always good!) over any of the above!

I think it is down to the individual horse really. I have a fantastic little (16.1) Belgian WB and he has done a bit of everything RC wise over the years, he is lovely to handle, great to do in every way, very affectionate and talented.

He does have a WB brain though is naturally a high alert (spooky) horse out esp out of his comfort zone and can go from plod to sod when his brain fries! :D This happens when he does something he thinks is terribly exciting and has got worse as he has got older (18yrs).

I couldn't do with any horse that was an insensitive, unaffectionate yob regardless of the breed but I do fancy something that has a more even temperament when it comes to the dreaded day I lose my boy.

Well, if I wanted an eventer I would probably go for an ID x TB ISH because from my experience there are far more of that breeding that are machines xc than there are warmbloods. However, these days I really like riding warmbloods, because, although they vary enormously temperament-wise, I find them generally comfortable to ride, school and jump. But if I wanted a good solid RC allrounder I would go for a TB or a welsh d, or a mix of the two.
