warmblood owners..... do any of your imported horses have the breed description on their passports as Rasse Rhineland and if so what does this translate as?

Bit of history hunting on a new arrival!

Thanks!!

It means your horse is a Rhinelander - he is German, from the Rhineland area. "Rasse" is "race". So you have yourself a German warmblood

Rhineland is the general name for the land on both sides of the river Rhine in the west of Germany

Rasse means breed, so your horse must be a Rhinelander Warmblood

Sounds like a Rheinländer to me. Have a look on here:

www.pferde-treff.de/zucht/brandz.shtml

You will have to scroll down the page until you see the name Rheinland, and from what you describe, your horse's brand is the first one in this category. It's also known as the Rehkrone (Deer's Crown). There is a variety of sources for the number under the brand, some of which I can't remember at the mo, but if you want me to look further, PM me and I'll see what I can do.
