Somebody should have warned me your horses will decide they feel better than they ever have!

While transitioning I got very sick and was then on a plane to America so I haven't worked Abba in 4 weeks consistently. Now I will say this mare has never put a foot wrong, that's still true. I also don't tolerate nonsense under saddle on the lunge. But.... This mare knows the score. She's always worked hard for me. She's had winters off and never been as fresh as she was today.

I tacked up and hopped on as normal. Walked around the arena a couple of times and thought nope. Mind you she wasn't giving any abnormal signs just instinct. Husband is like, WTH? I'm like can you get me the lunge please. Well, I have never seen a horse make a shape like it! The squeals and bucks were too funny! She goes around the circle absolutely perfect so she's not dragging out of you at all. Just bucking and squealing. Then she settled down and was her true self. I got back on and did a little with her and was so impressed by her moving.

I know I shouldn't have let her be silly but at the same time this was just being happy. She's not a robot and like I've said she knows her job. She was expressing herself safely! Wow can she make shapes. Wish I hadn't seen that! LOL!

Brought her back in and threatened to put her shoes back on if she continues to feel so darn good! So just a little warning. Beware of barefoot, your horses might be too happy! LOL!

Funnily enough my boy [who really does not know how to buck] has been on a few oats in addition to his normal diet, just a single handfull to see if they affect him, he had a day off yesterday, so I decided to lunge him, and he put in the most tiny buck, it was more of a waggle of the bum but both feet left the ground, I don't know who was most surprised, him or me!

My husband who did all the feeding while I was away, was taking the Mick saying how he gave her loads of extras while I was gone! She just gets a handful of a straw and grass chaff that's low in sugar and startch plus a smidgeon of oats for taste with her supps. I mean my cats eat more than her.

She is a good girl. She needed that. She wasn't humped up or walking all spritzy. I just knew she was just wanting to let loose!

Got some circulation to those feet this morning I tell ya!

Absolutely love it haha!!!

I took a hunter barefoot, he was the horse no one liked riding because he shuffled out hacking and everything was an effort with him - till the shoes came off, little swine started spooking, bucking and generally acting like a 5 yo!
Clearly he felt better lol
