WARNING ABOUT SELLING SADDLES VIA EBAY - NO PROTECTION FOR SELLERS!!!!

Ouch! I have five saddles waiting to go on Ebay..., will have to reconsider and maybe say cash on collection or cleared cheque only.

I used to sell and buy all sorts of bits and pieces on Ebay, even had a wee shop at one point, but don't think I'll be doing it again.

Hope you get the money (somehow!) soon hun.

IMHO both Ebay and Paypal have got too big for their boots and just become money-grabbers. They have made such stupid rules over the last year or so, totally unfair rules, such as sellers not being able to leave negative (and I am generally not a seller). there is another site that is free but not advertised and so much much smaller. maybe if people started migrating, ebay and paypal might (well, that was a flying pig) re consider some of their changes.

PS, the site is ebid

Its not just saddles this happens on its high value goods and it also depends on your feedback, what i would have done in this situation is if paypal held your money and you knew this then i wouldn't have sent the saddle and got the negative feedback, there are alot of dodgy people out there and you won't get your money into your account until the feedback has been left i'm afraid. You will have to wait the 21 days, when the buyer sent the invoice to you did it have the phone number as well as the address? Phone them up and get them to leave feedback. If the buyer has a problem with it not fitting the horse and it was clearly labelled then that is NOT your fault, they should have measured the horse before buying and if your advert states NON REFUNDABLE then you are covered but not by paypal as they don't care about anyone apart from themselves.

I don't sell on Ebay now since they started forcing you to accept PayPal and then holding the money. I'd still use it to sell big stuff, for example, my jeep, which will be cash on collection, not PayPal.

ouch!
i dont think i will be putting my saddles on there now! i have a few i was going to list when i got around to it!
There is a new horse auction site. horsebid i listed something on there - it was all free but as its new, no-one bid on it as it doesnt seem well known

this is precisely why i will have nothing to do with e-bay, i know loads of people have been scammed in this way...

Thanks for the heads up on this. Hubby is about to sell a high value camera on Ebay, not so sure he will be accepting Paypal now in real terms.

What ridiculous rules that you can't leave negative feedback as a seller and they (paypal) hold onto the money
