WARNING ALL SUBSCRIBERS

I have just recieved a call from avery charming man called david claiming to be from Horse and Hound wanting to take my details to renew my subscription. 2 things worried me
1) my subscription isn't expired, its a rolling subscription that runs until I cancel it
2) the call came from a sheffield number - as far as I am aware H&H do not have sheffield offices.

I googled the number after recieving the call and it is listed on some prank call websites, I imagine if I hadn't been on the ball they would have taken my card details etc and swanned off with my money (well if I had any!!!)

The number is 0114 2015606. I'm about to talk to the subscription people about it but thought I'd warn people first.

That would make sense, otherwise how would they have got your name and phone number and know you subscribe to H & H.

Of course if it IS a prank / scam, the same applies, how and where did they get your details

Have just spoken to subscrition team, woman I spoke to was quite concerned as she did not recognise the number as one of their marketing companies (again she did not think there were any offices in Sheffield) and they are looking into it.

It COULD be just marketing but if they were genuinly through H&H surely they would know my subscription is rolling and not for renewal?
 
This sounds well dodgy. I had a very similar call from '02' wanted to offer me an early upgrade & extend my contract, then she asked when my contract was due to expire. I said that if she was from o2, then surely she would know that and she hung up on me!!!

I HATE!!! these thieving scammers!!!
