Here is Smut. I haven't even met her yet but she is coming home in Feb. Her relations beat and pick up and are cracking old fashioned springers. I hope she will be slow, steady and kind to a first time spaniel novice! (You may laugh).
Thank you Paul Macneil photography for the photo - I have permission to post it.

She is adorable. I am sniggering at the thought of a slow, steady springer puppy. All the ones my father has bred have turned out that way...eventually. Very eventually

You all know, as well as I do, that behind that loveable exterior lies a testing, inexhaustible challenge. I do think puppies are cute, but the sooner they are no longer pups the better. No one will envy me standing on the lawn in February waiting for it to do something. :-)

 You've just made me remember my waiting for the puppy to poop song from when my sprocker was a pup. It was sung to the tune of English country garden...

"What do you do when the puppy won't poop,
In an English country garden?
Rpt.
Pick him up and shake him,
Squeeze him out and make him,
Stay up all night til the b***er has a sh**e
That what you do when the puppy won't poop,
In an English country garden "

You can use it if you like.
You're welcome.

Why thank you. Will I be able to sing over my chattering teeth!?

I’m dying of cuteness! That’s a seriously gorgeous springer, same faint stripe as Zak (!!) and the naughty gremlin in that film :eek3: I’m very puppy broody currently.

Slow springer?! What’s one of those? So I was walking Brig, the doddery 14 year old, round the block when he slipped his lead and trotted off towards the main road and I had to run (the sheer indignity!) to catch the deaf little swine! To be fair, he’s very steady, very solid working pedigree.

She’s adorable! Looking forward to the pics when she comes home. My husband would love a springer pup but I just don’t think I’m up to the challenge at the minute haha

Oh wow - I don't think pups come much cuter than that! Smut (fab name!) is beautiful. I did vaguely consider a springer years ago as they were the breed my GSD bitch liked the best, but it wasn't to be. Will really enjoy hearing all about her.
