I posted on the vet forum the other week that Axel had a few warts around his mouth and nose. One of them is right where his flash strap sits so I have taken it off as it was irritating him. He was lovely to ride in the school yesterday but today he was a nightmare and just kept throwing his head up all the time, in the end I got off and looked in his mouth and he has warts on the inside of his mouth/lips right where the bit goes

Has anyone ever heard of this before?

I'm assuming that is what is bothering him and why he was reluctant to take a contact. I was riding him in a waterford snaffle today but will change back to his kk ultra tomorrow and see what he's like.
Suposed to be going to a show on sunday too.

What is it with my horse, if its not one thing its another!?

A friend of mine uses some homeopathic stuff on her horses warts... it's not cheap but she swears by it and it gets rid of them very quicky. It's topical stuff though so not sure if it could be used inside the mouth.

Can try and find out more info for you if you would like?

My horse had something like that once on his lips then under his tail, i kept an eye on them and they disappered by themselves. Another had a wart on her flank, the vet said to dab olive oil on every day and this reduced the size of it!

Ha my first ponio had one right on his bum!!

Never caused any problems though, hope Axel feels better soon.
