My boy seems to take more than a passing interest in the mares and fillies at our yard. Each times he is within 20 metres of one he gets quite excited, sniffs the air, his eyes go a bit glazed and he acts all silly.
The YO's old stallion is boxed two away from him and is usually very quiet but he goes nuts whenever my boy is around and tends to get quite aggressive, which he doesn't do with the other geldings.
I was wondering if my boy might have been gelded late? His Mr Winky tends to make an appearance at the most inappropriate times, more so when there are mares around. Not sure if this means he was gelded late. If so how long does it take for his hormones to die down? I was told it can take up to two years so I'm wondering if this is what is causing his odd behaviour.
