Just now the people across the road (from a pub, never met tem before) were looking for their dog as it had got out, we pulled up at our house in our car, got out and it ran across the road from someone else’s garden to us, just missing a car. We were just about to catch it and take it back and they started screaming at it to come back (it started going) I politely shouted (or they wouldn’t hear) that it could get hit calling it across a busy fast road and they shouted back shut up, now to me that is rude as we were trying to be helpful to take the dog back and it had already nearly been hit once.
Was i in the wrong trying to be helpful?

Cheeky barstewards, they should think themselves lucky you bothered to restrain the dog, I would have returned the sentiment with some skathing abuse:mad:

They may have been panicing/worried but if it were one of my three dogs in that situation i would have been pleased if someone caught him/her and i wouldn't call them across the road knowing what its like i would have gone to the dog.
I did tell them there was no need to be so rude but was then ignored.

Without being in the situation I find it hard to imagine how I personally would react, but often when something happens where my animals could injure themselves I often react badly simply because I am worried. I can only speak for myself but I think its better to think the best of people, rather than the worse, when the reality doesn't really matter.

I know people react differently in situations, I just was wondering with the reaction i got if i was wrong to try and help and maybe it seemed to them like i was interfeering (sp) when i thought i was doing a good thing helping which was my instant reaction.

You weren't doing anything wrong, what I'm saying is don't take it personally or think you should have acted differently, they were wrong to snap at you, but fear and worry does strange things to people, so don't worry about it too much. Hope that makes sense!
