anyone know how to skin rabbits?? need to know as i am in need of some skin and at the same time need to get rid of some of the little pests!
any info or techniques would be much apprieciated

I know but can't bare to see or skin anything since half watching that damn Peta video..I'm only eating pork at the moment too....sad ay!

It was posted on a pro forum (animal was skinned alive-foreign country) and I just cannot skin anything since, makes me want to spew!

was it does little bear/badgery looking things...fur i think it was

i can see why its easier on young'uns!! the part that i need to know about is how to take the guts out properly. i thinkits the same with gralloching, if you peirce or cut open there intestines or bladder, you poisen the meat and will have to throw it away, which would be a shame.

To paunch a rabbit, when shot, place the head on your knee legs dangling down. With a sharp penknife make a fine incision from the rib cage right down to the bottom. Now place fore finger & thumb in at the top & wrap around the organs & pull downwards & out. Make sure the back passages are clear as this will taint meat as well.
Then make a slit between the tendon & bone in one of the hind legs & then push the other hind leg through this slit.
Hang in a cool fly free area for a couple of days.
Then skinning cut down the legs (skin only) you can also where you have gutted prise your fingers over the back between the meat & skin.
Then where lifted from the legs pull the skin forward right up the neck but not over the head & cut off a top of neck with head contained in the skin. Then you can remove skin & head. Dry the skin out or salt it which ever you prefer!
 
good stuff, got myself a new rifle!!! rather happy, going out lamping iwht it tonight!! had a look in a local field and had a wlak around, there is about 30 of the bloody things!! should be good!! unfortunatly, i have found out that my dad is a better shot with a rifle than i am!!! that is not so good,
