Things aren't going well at the mo. We have to move yards soon and it doesn't look likely that we will be moving. So, with that in mind, Im thinking I may have to sell Summer and Lily.

Just curious as to prices to ask.

Summer. 13.1hh 5 years. Grey. Unknown breeding. Mare. Has done a lot of unaf dressage, won her last comp. Has done some jumping and been out and done a few CR's. Very honest. Easy ride. Ridden and competed by my sister and ridden by my children 6 and 7. Easy to do in all ways. Currently living out.

Lily. 2 year old reg mini shetland. Chestnut mare. Amazing temp. Kids do everything with her good in all ways.

Any ideas guys?

I have pics in my siggy if thats any help

would think around 2k-2500k for the grey especially if it would suit a competant child who wants to compete, a good nature, easy to ride horse is worth every penny

Oh I think I must be way off the mark judging by other people's responses, but I might as well say it anyway....I would say about £1,200 for the grey 13.1hh and have absolutely no idea for the mini.

Sorry, probably absolutely no help whatsoever.

I just remember when I sold ponies when I was living in the UK, 13.2hh's were by far the hardest ones to sell. 14.2hh's and 12.2hh's were easy peasy but for some reason regular 13.2hh's were very difficult, except if they were FIRST ponies and then you can sell them very easily regardless of size.

Any 13.2hh's I had were sold for less than the 12.2hh's which was why I stopped buying any more at that size.

Best of luck though and I do hope you get a figure closer to everyone elses suggestions.

Thanks again. Im hoping it wont come to selling but, at the moment, Im not so sure.

I never realised size was such an issue when selling.

Thank you for that. May have a look at others on that site later.

However, the first one I expect to be a bit more as its dun and also registered. Summer is a nobody! LOL (and grey)

Don't believe in best times. A good home will be looking for a good horse regardless. Your sheltie might be more after winter because most people don't want more pet like equines over the winter slug.

13.1/13.2hhs dont normally sell for love nor money, If we had her to sell we would price 13.1hh @ between £1200 and £1500.
Mini shetland around £150-£200

Not too sure on price but if you ever want to pop summer on loan... Shame she's not a wee bit bigger, YO confessed today she'd been to see a lovely little pony today but decided not to go for it as it was only 13hh which she felt was too much for the money they were asking (7yr old, chestnut mare, £2.2K)

Yep, as a pony dealer for years, that was my experience aswell. Maybe it depends on where you are located in the country though as a lot of people have suggested much higher prices than you and I said.

Best of luck though Piaffe and I really do hope you get a nicer figure than this.

Yeh we dont get ponies often but we had a lovely 13.2hh 10 yr old piebald gelding, won all chaps and bspa champs. Qualified and won world champs for best color and markings, jumped 1.25m sj, done xc. Won every county show you can think of. Bril in stable, box shoe, catch etc,. Bombproof hack but wrong height! ended up being sold cheap to another dealer. We should of put stilts on him haha

If she's quiet then you should get a fair price for your 13hh. Mine sold for 4.5k so people will pay for the right pony - I also had a queue of people wanting him and a couple who wanted to get into a bidding war against the eventual purchaser.
The key to his success was that he was a proper schoolmaster - not perfect by any means (& had sweetitch) but safe & sensible whilst also being competitive.
The key is that people want to see the pony performing safely with children at the moment.
There are lots of children these days who want to do PC dressage & general activities safely. A really well schooled pony which is straight should sell ok - most important is that it isn't ever strong and is bombproof, the very rare buck is just about forgivable.
The only downside to her is her age, she could do with a few more miles under the belt.
If you are in the PC then the PC website is the best place to sell. I would advertise her for 2.5k with her experience, though a summer of competing & PC would add a grand.
I've a 13.2 here which I bought to sell. Very ordinary pony which I aim to sell in the Autumn for approx 4k - you can get the money.
