Hi all,

in my haste to get out of the house yesterday I didn't check the backyard for toys that the wee dog takes out there, so Roxanne Raccoon has had a night out. I've googled and can't find any washing instructions (it's a Danish Design toy,the label on it is long gone). His other toys are made of microfibre stuff so they've been washed on a low temp cycle in the machine. He'll be gutted if this one gets ruined as it's his favourite err... love toy :)

Here's the boy and his toy (he's grown quite a lot since then, he's now the same size as it:))

Was damp here last night so there will have been slugs around, he also left it partially in a drainage channel. Don't really want to give it back to him without a wash. It has a squeaker and a growl. Any thoughts on how to wash it? Would a low temp, slow spin cycle be ok, or does it need hand washing?

Any help gratefully received!

Mine don't squeak or growl but I handwash thme in a wool wash liquid, good repeated rinse then a quick spin on lowest setting. Then they sit on the Aga for a bit!

We just put ours through a normal wash cycle in the machine, they come out slightly different in that the fluff can go a bit more spikey looking but still very useable.

I love the picture of your proud little boy next to his friend, what a cute little chap he is :)

Thanks all, picked up some wool wash yesterday. Not quite as pristine as it once was but at least it's clean. Just waiting for it to dry and he can have his friend back. The growl works, the squeak is still there just has a different tone but I suspect once the water is out of it, Roxanne will be squeaking as normal :)
