Washing/Cleaning Body Protectors

Evening all,
I stupidly lent out my BP and its come back in a pretty awful state! Its covered in stains and smells HORRIBLE!! I know the washing machine is not an option but i need to clean it ! Any hints or tips grateful recieved and sorry for a dull post!

Can you not take the outer cover off? I know my BP has velcro so the foam can be removed and the cover washed.

If you can't take the cover off we febreeze them and give them a scrub with a nail brush and vanish stain remover/washing up liquid

Ijust use a damp cloth on mine or baby wipes but for a really minging one how about that foam that you can clean the inside of riding hats with? I use that for my inside of my hats but I imagine it will be BP safe....
