Hi

Just after some advice on best/safest way to wash and preserve the fluffiness of the wool.

Have heard some people use human hair conditioner?

Yes - I get the cheap supermarket own brand hair conditioner and rub it in to the sheepskin well. Then wash on a delicates or handwash cycle. Let it dry naturally and then just run the slicker brush over the sheepskin. They should stay like new!

Ah ok so rub the conditioner on it dry then put it in the machine?

Silly question but do you still use washing powder?

Another vote for the conditioner, but I use a special wash for mine can not think of the name at the moment and hand wash the stuff.

Sorry, meant to add - I use a 'delicates' wash liquid, suitable for machine and handwashing. Again, I think it's a supermarket own brand!

I use the nuumed wool wash then rub a human conditioner all over sheepskin and wash on forty comes out like new have then in brown,black and white also girth sleeves an grooming mit all sheepskin like new

Thank you for all the replies. Will get some own brand conditioner from supermarket and find the washing machine handbook and see what options I have for wool/delicates

Will also look at the nuumed wool wash - I imagine local tack shop may do?
