Just wondering if anyone uses something other than a domestic washing machine?

I used to have a great little "camping" washing machine. It was great at washing small things like boots/bandages the odd fly rug. However the washing machine has now died and I cant find anything else suitable.

Thanks in advance

This article, although it is American, might give you ideas of brands and sizes.

For a while, OH's parents had a plastic washing machine at the house in the south-west. I don't remember what make it was. It had no heating element, so had to be filled with hot water from the tap. MIL used to stand it in the shower, and it would empty straight into the shower tray.

It was basically just a plastic bucket with a motor and agitator on a timer circuit, and it was light enough when empty that MIL could lift it up onto a high shelf over the door.

Try looking at counter top washing machines, there are quite a few different types.
We used to have one in a flat I lived in but this was over 30 years ago.

Watching this with interest. I miss having one of those great little spinners. The spin programme on the washing machine is just not as good. I have a huge black tub for hand washing dog bedding. After removing the dog hair, the tub is filled in the garden and I stomp it with my feet, Korean style. However, in the depths of winter, animal stuff goes in the washing machine.

Mum had one of the early automatic washing machines, but once the novelty had worn off, she reverted to using a single tub, followed by the mangle, then rinsed in the bath tub and back to the mangle. You needed to wear sunglasses when she hung the sheets and nappies on the washing line.
