Washing off waxed surfaces

Just a quick question, does anyone have any tips for washing off waxed sand surfaces from horses legs? The track surface is amazing but a total nightmare to wash off their legs (and we have 8 horses going out twice daily!). Have tried normal shampoo, fairy liquid, brushing if off when dry but it won't budge. Contemplating a nomad power washer but don't really want to invest if it won't work.

If anyone has any ideas, I would be grateful!

It's nightmare stuff!
I think the water needs to be hot, seems to help. Hot water and washing up liquid seemed the best I found, like you say it's not great though!
We spray lots of mane and tail onto the legs now and that seems to help prevent it sticking in the first place
