Hi,

Im planning to do little spring clean, and to save couple £££ and was wondering if you have any good tips on cleaning rugs and travel boots? I bought the Horse Wear Wash bags (Large and Jumbo) and was thinking of washing rugs at the laundrette in them (they got those massive washing mashines)... What washing detergent to use so that I don't ruin waterproofing on our turn out rugs? And can I use same stuff on travel boots and saddle cloths?

:D

I've washed travel boots, saddle cloths and fleece rugs with normal detergent and no problems, but you'll need to buy a special horsey one for turnout rugs, i use nikwax rug wash and if needed the rug proofer. the re-proofing one is excellent- i had a cheap turnout rug that leaked badly even when new, washed it with the re-proofer and its been brilliant ever since!
Check with your laundrette, I know our local one won't let people wash horse rugs :(

Cool thanks!

I know it's cheeky, but I thought if I put them in those bags they will not know what's inside ;)
