Washing rugs etc using a wash bag

I have lots of saddle cloths rugs etc to wash I am using a wash bag one of the big orange ones but not getting the best results.

I have put some washing liquid gel in the bag and that just foamed everything up. Didnt wash very well and only put two saddle cloths in.

I did a stable rug and put a washing table in the bag and it was useless. Didnt even look washed.

So what does everyone else use. Do I need some rug wash liquid or can I use something else.
 
I’m just looking at a Rambo 100g turnout going round and round in my washing machine in an orange bag! I use Nikwax rug wash which I measure out into the dispenser. I do a wash, then repeat but without any detergent so effectively a dedicated rinse cycle, then a proofing cycle.
I use a delicates program with extra water and rinse levels (my machine allows me to do that).
 
I just put my rugs straight into the machine. WIth Og rugs , I often put a towel or something similar with it to stop it balling up and clagging about.
 
I use the bags as I cant stand horse hair in the machine. I am not washing turnouts just stable, fly rugs and saddle pads really. It says put the washing liquid in the bag. I might try nikwax but I often have a lot to wash.
 
Straight into the machine, lightweights and fleeces plus saddlecloths..never seem to have left over hair in the machine either..def not anything heavier than a lightweight though, reckon it’s too much for the machine
 
Rhino no fills, numnahs and headcollars go straight into the machine. Rugs have no detergent and get reproofed with Graingers. Other items have usual detergent and softener so they smell nice. Before putting non horsey items into the machine I clean out hair and run a cold empty wash though.
 
I use gel in the machine drawer as normal with the orange bag and don’t normally have a problem, although I do use a longish cycle to give it time to work.
 
Straight in with one or two extra runs without detergent, to completely clear it out, then re-proofing cycle. Only had to unblock the filter once!
 
I brush off as much hair as I can and then put whatever I am washing straight into the machine although I do have a machine dedicated to horse and dog washing.

For items to wash properly they need to have enough room to move around and not be crammed in.
