Smother it in human hair conditioner and pop in the machine on a wool cycle with wool detergent or non bio if that's all you have

Use proper wool liquid rather than powder - I learnt the hard way!

Mine also took forever to dry, like a week hung up inside and on radiators! And then it stank :-(

best way to dry them is flat and somewhere warm, but away from direct heat. An airing cupboard is ideal

put it on the wool cycle with wool washing liquid, but then give it an extra spin afterwards, or it will take years to dry - wash mine like this regularly and it's fine
