Washing wool numnah - help please

I have a woollen numnah which needs a wash. I've washed it once before (wool wash, non-bio) and it's come clean but a bit lumpy. The rep said to slather it in hair conditioner first, really rub it in then sling it in the wash as normal - any opinions (or better ideas!) gratefully received!

Yep the conditioner works really well, line dry then brush softly with a wide tooth comb.

Yep, hair conditioner (lots of!) and non-bio wash in the machine - works a treat!

Yes cheap hair conditioner is what I was told by the shop and it works.!

I then blow dry mine with my hairdryer!

i have quite a few stephens lambskin wool numnahs and i use their own washing up liquid for them which you can buy directly from them or on ebay. it's great, just put it on a wool cycle, as long as it's below 30c and then tease it out when nearly dry with your fingers & give it a blow dry with your hair dryer to make it nice & fluffy again

Once it is dry, get a wire velcro brush and give it a quick brush all over, brings the pile back up beautifully.

Well I just use Tesco non bio washing powder and a 30 degree wash and my Nuumed Saddlecloths come out like new, no mucking about with conditioner or fancy washing products!!!
