Wasp stings anyone?

Just wondering if anyone has any good ideas? Was riding my boy in arena 10 days ago when he suddenly spooked, acting as though he had a horsefly underneath him. After a couple of minutes a lump appeared on the outside of his off side fore, about 2 inches below his elbow with a tiny bit of blood- we thought he must have been stung- he was trotting at the time. Got off and left him as it was really itchy and he wouldn't let us near it- striking out and kicking! However he is still quivering when I go near that leg, and when riding although the lump just seems to be a scab, but also quivers on the other leg - he is a bit dramatic!! Is this psychological? Have left fleece off tonight as anything near it makes him worse. Have tried hosing and anti itch cream, and ignoring it!! Seems to be slightly better if I don't make an issue of it. All ideas welcome, sorry for long post! xx
 
Might still have the sting in there irritating him. If you can get close enough try putting some Magnesium Sulphate cream on to draw it out. 10 days sounds like a long time to still be bothered by a sting alone.
 
mine got stung by a swarm of hornets and had 30 stings all over her, she had 50 piriton a day for a couple of days as the anti histamine sorted it all out. she was fine after a few days. although now doesnt like buzzing insects - cant blame her!
 
she was shaking from head to toe, and each bite came up in a lump, she also had big wheals all over her body where the lymphatic system was overloaded with toxins to remove.
she had a couple of days in stable just as she was so shaken up and scared of buzzing things, but after the lumps had gone she was fine. Was worrying though.
Luckily i wasnt on her at the time i had got off to open a gate and the gate disturbed a nest she was galloping and bucking round me in a circle whilst i hung on for dear life and in the end we both just ran across the field to get away from them. i got back on her pretty sharpish so we could get back to the yard as fast as poss. I only got 3 bites, she was covered poor thing.
 
mine got stug by some bees on front legs and shoulder went mad then completly dopy like had been sedated was stagering about and shaking from head to toe last about 30min two days later a small scab appered which doubled in size inone day and bythe next day was double that. vetsaid it was an allergicreaction to thestings and perscibed steriod cream to reeduce the inflamation
