To all owners, and livery yards in North Hampshire, South Wiltshire and East Dorset.
Two men have been seen in a white van in the Verwood area targetting horses to be stolen. They do this by tying a knot in the manes of the horses then return later to collect them.
Be on the look out, check the manes of your horses.

they also plait one part of the mane or leave something by the field as a target too...very scary thought!
Hope these horses are seen by their owners tonight and remove the knot

I've just had an email about this from local Crimewatch group. Apparently a horse was targetted in Child Okeford near Blandford, (owner moved all her horses the next day) and a skewbald was found with a plait at Bishopstrow just outside Warminster - all v scary and close to me.

oooh my arabs mane is always knotted but I think thats the wind...? but somebody did leave half a bale of hay outside my field the other day. its all rather scary.

I found one of mine with a plait in her mane the other day - i wondered where the hell it came from - will keep my eyes peeled now!

When a pony was stolen in the next field to my friend thieves had tied bread bags to the fence. In the same week we had similar bags tied to our fences, we imediately removed the horses and are yet to return until we tighten security.
