Watching Monty Roberts demonstration on Sat night....

I was supposed to be going to the Glasgow one to help, but instead, I had my vet out scanning my 3 year old pony to see if she is pregnant.
The verdict............YES, she IS.
It wasn't planned.....EX yard owner's entire colts got to her.
EX yard owner is of course blatantly denying it, although my filly hasn't left this yard since arriving on 20th May 2011.....and is at LEAST 5 MONTHS pregnant.
Plus point......I used my Dually halter to hold her for the vet, and my baby pony behaved VERY well.

I was at the Glasgow one last night too, it really was wonderful and I loved every minute. The time flew by. Enjoy!
LWO I saw your post on Kelly's page this morning. Congratulations / commeriserations on the unexpected little one :(

Oh no. Sorry to slightly hijack but cannot find original thread. Sending good wishes to you and hope you get something sorted!

I went to the one at hadlow, its really good but my advice.... Take a rug!! It's excellent but so so cold!!

Echo this ^^^^

I've been to a couple of demo's and always seem to lose feeling in hands and feet! You will enjoy it much more if you are not thinking about freezing fingers and toes!

Thats great to know. Im going to the one in okehampton next weds all by myself:) Im not a one person follower but I found out about natural work when I first read montys book some years ago so thought it would be really interesting to go along and considering the tickets were quite cheap and hubby wouldnt tak no for an answer when I told him he was going to be just up the road, I decided its prob worth a look:)

Have fun - I remember when they were ar Gleneagles in 2007 and we went out with the crew on the Saturday night, was brilliant fun :D

LittleWildOne, are you in Edinburgh?

LittleWildOne, infact I know you're in Edinburgh and I know exactly whos yard you were on.

I'd be seriously worried if your mare is carrying to one of those colts, given the amount of inbreeding and bad breeding management there.

Stallions have been able to jump in and out fields as they please and mothers have become pregnant to their own sons, and stallions have sired foals to their own daughters.

I doubt very much at 5 months that there is anything that can be done now. Which yard are you at now?

I went to the one at Myerscough last weekend, really enjoyed it.
I would agree with everyone about taking a rug, also take a cushion to sit on! Got a numb bum after a while.

well enjoy your belated demo and, yes go with open eyes, but I'd be suprised if you don't enjoy it and learn lots.

Also sort of congrats on baby horse to be - obviously not planned but enjoy never the less :D:D
