Water in dog crate - any suggestions?

I need some advice about putting (and keeping) water in a crate.

Very active and inquisitive working cocker upends a loose bowl, tips the water out and sits there holding the bowl in his mouth.
Any advice?

We have clip on show bowls for water which are great. The holder attaches to the side of the crate and the bowl sits inside it. They aren't huge so need checking regularly but they're not tiny either.

We found the spaniel bowl worked, but I guess you may have tried that!

Parrot bowl, clip-on bucket, or offer water and take it away/allow access to it outside the crate.

I've tried hook over frame which the metal bowl drops into. He just picks up both .... and soaks his bed.

He's crated overnight and seems to get thirsty about 5am :-(

You need the bolt on ones then! Mine drinks the whole lot about half an hour after I put him to bed.
He was a bowl-scooter but the hooped ones stopped it...you need the fixed one. The deep buckets/pails would probably suit you better.

These are brill as the bowl slides into the holder and even my chewing flatcoat can't get them out. Also because the hoop is not a complete circle there is no risk of the dogs head becoming trapped in it

When I used to export my dogs, I'd buy a tin of pineapples, eat the contents, tap a hole in the top rim with a hammer and a large nail. Then I'd cable tie the tin to the weld mesh through the hole and put a longer cable tie half way down the tin and fasten that through the weld mesh. That would stay secure until the dog reached it's destination, sometimes at the other side of the World!

Fortunately, I like tinned pineapples.

I've got the bolt on bowl which sits in the frame, hard to get out/spill.

What about using something akin to a large water bottle which is attached to the side of the crate? similar to what you see in rabbit cages etc. I have something like that for when I go walking and the dogs quickly learnt how to get the water. If you offer a decent drink before going to bed and then leave the bottle up that should work.

Thanks for all the suggestions - I'm going to try the bolt on dish.

He is a very high energy, inquisitive sort of person - so anything that isn't metal, or that has an area he could get his mouth on, will be chewed. If it's not metal, it will be destroyed! And he's also surprisingly strong for his size.

He has ad lib water available all day - it's only when he decides he's thirsty at 5am, that it causes an issue!

I have 2 of these attached to a tail guard in the back of my Land Rover.

Bowls never spill and the catches keep the bowls in place.
